Stuttering and frame drops used to be a problem with Nvidia SLI systems.

Thank you for your effort and time helping me, much appreciate it.

So if the problem is CPU limitation as you say, is there a way that I can fix it? My frames drop to ~45 if I lock them to 60. Okay now here comes the interesting part: Whenever I lock the FPS to 60, the frame drops still occur, even at the exact same spots they did before, for example when the helicopter crashes on B scenario.

I usually use Directx12 because my friend who did build my pc for me said that Directx12 is highly recommended for AMD GPUs, and infact, Directx12 gave me a few more FPS than Directx11. I did change the video setting several times while I played the game, I wanted to figure out which graphic setting would give the most performance and looked the best, since I wanted to try out that 120 FPS knife 'glitch' but it never worked for me, so most of the time the graphic setting were set pretty high, not sure if it helps to list them though. Did see one other thread though mention it as you did that it worked fine and only started hitching later. Originally posted by Illusion of Progress:Can't explain how it didn't occur before and does now (outside overheating or throttling, which I would guess you ruled out) but everything in your description otherwise lines up with the asset streaming hitches almost to the letter. That also would make sense given the asset streaming, since CPU, VRAM, and possibly storage medium could affect the impacts of it. If those drops from ~200 FPS on the high end go to under 60 FPS, and it drops to the same even when the graphics are higher (that is, even though the drops are LESS when the graphics are higher since it's capping at a lower value, is it dropping to same rough value as its minimum?), then that's a classic sign of CPU limitation. Have you changed video settings AT ALL during that time? Important ones offhand that could possibly make it more noticeable would be DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 (only have experience with the former, but I think it's said the latter runs worse?), and raising the frame limit from 60 (which will for sure will make the drops way more apparent). I've completed the B scenarios several times on both characters but never noticed any FPS drops in the past.Ĭan't explain how it didn't occur before and does now (outside overheating or throttling, which I would guess you ruled out) but everything in your description otherwise lines up with the asset streaming hitches almost to the letter. I just noticed that the FPS drops always occur in the same spots, as example, on Claire B scenario, when the helicopter crashes into the building or when you walk past Elliot. But if I set the graphics to max then I got 75-90, and my FPS still drop down to under 60.This never happened to me before and I don't know what to do anymore, I hope that someone in here can help me because I really wanna play this game. Interesting is that, if I lower the graphic settings I got around 200 Frames Per Second, but still I get those weird, random drops. But nothing really helped fixing the problem.
#ELIZA PRYOR RESIDENT EVIL 2 REMAKE UPDATE#
I have tried to update my drivers, uninstalled the game twice, deleted save files, scanned my computer for any viruses and played around with the graphic settings(also tried Directx12). Usually I get around 120 FPS but now it drops down to 70 or 80 and the game just starts stuttering horribly. I've been playing the game for 60 hours+ and everything was fine (of course I had small FPS drops from time to time but those were just normal drops, like when you enter a new room and stuff like that) But now, the game just starts stuttering and I get random FPS drops, and I don't know why. So I tried to describe my problem as detailed as possible, even though I don't think my hardware will be important here but I will post them anyway.
